If this is your first experience with physical therapy, we have a list of common questions regarding your future evaluation.

Q: What should I expect when visiting Synergy Spine Therapy?

A: Our goal is to offer an exceptional experience now and a lifetime resource down the road. We want you to feel well cared for and leave better than when you came in. We provide one physical therapist per patient for an average of 45 minutes. It is our individual, evidence based medicine, and compassionate care approach that results in highly effective treatments. In a time where superior customer service is hard to find, we want you to be impressed with Synergy Spine Therapy.

Q: What do I need to bring and wear to physical therapy?

A: Bring: Insurance card, picture ID, completed medical history form,method of payment.
Wear: Dress comfortably and wear something that the physical therapist could have access to your problem areas. Loose fitting clothing that is comfortable is optimal.

Q: How long will my initial appointment last?

A: The initial evaluation will last between 45 minutes and 1 hour. Please bring your Insurance card, picture ID, completed medical history form,method of payment. If you forget to bring in your completed packet, we will need to have you fill this out prior to seeing the therapist. Please arrive 15 minutes early in order to complete all insurance forms and documentation is completed.

Q: How long will treatment appointments last after the evaluation?

A: The average treatment lasts 45 minutes. Please wear loose or comfortable clothing during each treatment. You could possibly be given a home exercise program (HEP). The therapist will discuss treatment expectations and goals with you during the initial evaluation.

Q: What happens if my pain is worse or returns?

A: Flare ups are going to happen and are very common. If you are having worse pain please give us a call and schedule an appointment. This is a very good time to see you, as your physical therapist will be an excellent resource for reducing your symptoms and return you back to normal function.

Q: How long should I expect to be in physical therapy?

A: Each plan of care is individualized and can last from just a few weeks to multiple months. It just depends on your diagnosis and symptoms. The physical therapist will discuss this specifically after the initial evaluation.

Q: Will my doctor be informed of how I am doing with physical therapy?

A: Yes, your doctor will be send an initial plan of care, which they will signs and send back to us. In addition, your physician will receive regular progress reports updating the team on how you’re responding to conservative care.

Q: Will I have a home exercise program (HEP)?

A: Possibly. Not everyone is prescribed a home exercise program (HEP). But if you do, your physical therapist will provide you with a written handout explaining how to perform the stretch or strengthening exercise.

We gladly accept the insurance plans listed below. If your plan is not listed, please call us at (503) 419-6220 as we are always adding new insurance plans. As a courtesy to our patients, we will verify your health benefits prior to your arrival to determine if there will be a copay, deductible, or coinsurance for therapy services.

For those patients who do not have health insurance or those who have maxed out their benefits, we offer a private pay plan. Please contact us today for more information on our fees for service and payment details.
